About the Workshop
Folk Art can be described as art that is of the people, for the people, and by the people. One such folk art is the Rajasthani Miniature painting.
Rajasthani Miniature painting is a style that developed primarily in the independent Hindu states of Rajasthan in western India during the 16th to 19th centuries. It evolved from Western Indian manuscript illustrations, with Mughal influences becoming evident in its later years. My work represents this traditional art in a contemporary style.
This workshop is perfect for anyone, whether a beginner at drawing, an experienced painter, or someone simply inspired by folk art. Over the course of one hour, we will cover an introduction to watercolours, the colours and brushes I use, a demonstration of creating a Rajasthani miniature along with figures with watercolours, and I will share my tips and techniques for using watercolours effectively.
